County-Wide Challenge Program Information Session
At 801 Elkton Boulevard in Elkton
Topics will include: Challenge services, STEM, Primary Talent, Honors Science and Science Fairs, Differentiation, Technology & Wikispaces Book Talk, DI, Chess Club, the Parent Advisory Council, and Java with Jean. Get-To-Know-You Event for Challenge Students
& Their Families at Sandy Hill Camp in North East, MD
Our first social event for G/T students and their families! Bring a bag lunch for a family picnic followed by some get-to-know-you and team building activities on the ropes course. Dress comfortably for outdoor activities. Event will be held rain or shine, as indoor facilities are also available. Cost is $10 per person. Maryland Coalition for Gifted and Talented Education (MCGATE) Annual Conference
A conference for parents will be coming in spring 2009. Keep an eye on their website for information when it comes out (www.mcgate.org).
Media Technology Festival
Coming in the spring for Cecil County students.
Students from Pre-K through 12th grade compete with technology projects in a wide variety of categories including photography, live action video, computer animation, graphic design, and more. Ask your local Challenge teacher to give you the detailed information whenever it comes out.
Destination ImagiNation Maryland Regional Tournament

DI Regionals will be hosted here in Cecil County! Ask your local Challenge teacher if your school already has a team or how you can go about forming one. Check out the D.I. website, http://www.idodi.org, to find out more about this unique competition that offers participants of all ages real-world experience in creativity, teamwork and problem solving
